The text to this ad reads: “It’s easy to lose your head when you’re horny.”
You can expect the rather conservative, but utterly unstable (in a fun way) Germans to produce an ad campaign like this. The ad doesn’t beat around the bush much and the message is pretty clear. This should make an impact in our opinion…
Being from South Africa, where HIV/AIDS is a massive, massive problem, I’m probably in a good position to give my 2 cents about this ad. We’ve heard a lot from researchers in the country about how to inform the masses about HIV and how not to. And a lot of the advertising and marketing for the AIDS campaign have been successfull. The big campaign these days is called “The ABC”, which stands for Abstinence, Be Faithful, Condomize. The campaign was first used in Uganda and was very effective, cutting down new AIDS victims by almost 75%, but to date the ABC campaign has not really produced the results in SA.
So obviously advertisers consider their target market first, when designing a new ad campaign (that’s basic Marketing 101), but in South Africa this is proving to be extremely difficult, since we have so many different and diverse cultures. So again obviously, this German ad is speaking to certain characteristic in German people and just wonder how effective the ad is…
On first view, it’s quite shocking, whilst the copy makes it quite funny. “So does it get the message across?” he ponders to himself in the quiet of his room.
Although iPod docks are widely available, most of them look S$%t and cost an arm and a leg. The new pretty (I see vivid pictures of this in my nightly fantasies…) iDream iClassic iPod Dock is one better though. All the retro red coloring looks so cool and the dock features removable wired speakers, faux vacuum tubes, a wireless remote, and seven different sized iPod adapters for your iPod. For $140 and a Christmas gift this is not a bad buy… iTreat yourself.

For all the womanizers out there, this ad is pure genius - not so sure the right-wing feminists will be so happy however. So if you’ve ever found yourself in a little bit of a difficult “forgetting-the-name-of-the-lovely-naked-girl-in-your-bed” situation, the new, and vastly improved (???) PostIT has the solution…

And that’s why leading men’s magazine, Maxim, have decided to cash in on the girls from OTH.
As big fans of the TV series, there is just no way that we can pass up the opportunity to talk about the uber-sexy, young little vixens on the OTH set. You don’t even have to follow or like the story to be ever-so-slightly intrigued by these pretty ladies.
Sophia Bush (yes that is the pretty one in the middle on the cover), has just started making a name for herself in Hollywood and we’re sure that she’ll make it far with those cute, girly looks and awesome curves… We wouldn’t mind playing her on / off boyfriend in the story either, because he has gotten “lucky” with her in the past!
Here’s the other scans of the whole interview as featured in Maxim’s November edition:
Although Billy Talent is been around for a while now and they’ve just released their new album, II, about two months ago, we still feel that their first hit single “Try Honestly” is one of the best songs ever ever in the world ever. This was our psyched-up summer tune in 2005 and we just felt that we’d share the music video with you.
What makes the music video so awesome is the part where the lead vocalist just absolutely goes insanely mad (it’s later in the song, at the bridge part) and just spins out of control. That and the guitarists freakish square mullet-afro of course - but who doesn’t like a Marge Simpson haircut now and again?
