So anyway, since our last post regarding our broadband at our apartment, we’ve had some problems setting up our P2P downloading…Since P2P is mostly not very legal (considering that we use it to get our daily fix of new episodes for our favourite TV shows - which apparently is actually not copyright infringement…), it is blocked by our ISP.
But luckily for us, we got some computer geeks to sort our shit out today and we’re now totally back online - except for the fact that our wireless router has not arrived and we’re therefor still doing the whole cable thingy (which is extremely irritating). So we’re happy and tomorrow morning we’ll be able to watch the new episode of Heroes - awesome show by the way.
Hope you guys are digging our new content, which you would’ve also noticed is a lot more regular than in the past. Keep your thumbs crossed that we get approved to the 9rules Network, because they are cool people and we would like to be part of that cool crowd…
You would’ve also seen our first extra module since the revamp. It’s just a little plugin which shows our favourite photos and digital images and we just love the lightbox compatibility of it. And it’s not Flickr - we host all the pics ourselves.

This one of our favourite and probably one of the best Family Guy clips by creator, Seth McFarland, ever ever ever! In this clip Stewie wants Brian to pay back the money he owes him and Stewie is all mobster / break-your-knee-caps-type of debt collecter. Eventually he just beats up Brian so bad that Brian agrees to pay him. Very funny!
And this illustrates why my momma always told me never to take money from loan sharks and candy from strangers…

Being from South Africa, I can truly say that our country has seen the effects of HIV/AIDS, since we have one of the worst infection rates in the world. So that is what you would’ve noticed the little red banner on the top-righthand corner of The Cool Crowd in support of World AIDS Day 2006, which is taking place on 1 December.
Dealing with HIV/AIDS is all about the mindset of individuals and this is evident since the stigma of having and living with AIDS is one of the biggest threats to actually conquering it. Although I’m not going to pretend to be an expert who has researched all facts, I do follow local news and the stories and facts are shocking. I’m also not pretending to be a martyr or activist by publishing a banner on my blog (which is widely published by many other websites), but I am at least taking a stance and I am involved in the struggle - if only in my limited, digital way.
It’s easy for me, as a upper-middle class citizen to be apathetic towards the epidemic and it’s easy to say that it will never affect me. And the truth is, it probably never will affect me directly, but with people suffering all around us, obviously I’m suffering in a way as well. And hence my little support…
Here’s some other AIDS-”related” posts that’s been featured on TCC:
“Well Jesus Christ I’m alone again, So what did you do those three days you were dead? Cause this problem’s gonna last more than the weekend.”
The above lyrics come from the band pictured above this text and although I could go on about the irony and semi-”truth” of the lyrics, but I would rather talk about the five guys that make up the epic rock band called, Brand New. Having been a fan of Brand New’s since their first album, Your Favourite Weapon in 2001, we’ve been totally blown away by their latest offering (The Devil and God are raging inside me) that was released about a week ago.
This band has seriously upped their game, since signing to Interscope Records, and the quality of this album is unbelievable! Track #3, “Jesus Christ” is our undoubted favourite, just because of the honesty and absolute musical genius. All of the sounds and beats are gently gelled into one epic melody to form a sum that is MUCH! bigger than its parts. To round of the musical genius the group’s vocalist, Jesse Lacey, blows us away with his awesome voice time and time again.
Most of the album is based on quite a mellow and laid-back, reflective-type sound and vibe, but the rage does shatter through on tracks like “You don’t know” and “Not the sun”. The band also experiments with a few various (very random) combinations of sounds and effects for some of the songs, but this is in the minority and it still does justice to the album.
This album is truly close to perfection and not many will disagree with this statement. The whole album just displays the musical genius and maturity of an epic rock band. This has been one of the best releases of 2006! And you do not need to be a prior-fan to enjoy this offering - it is just so good!
According to reports the USA have struck a deal with mother Russia at last to shut down the illegal MP3 distribution website, AllofMP3.com.
We can seriously see how AllofMP3 must’ve been pissing George Bush off, but why go spoil everybody’s fun? See the thing is, you can download full albums from there for ridiculously low prices - ie. get Tenacious D’s new album, The Pick of Destiny, (over here) for only $1.63…
But we guess AllofMP3 was probably considered a threat to Bush for some reason and that’s why they were closed down…
