“Wa wa wee wa…oops!”

Love him or hate him, but there’s no denying that Sacha Baron Cohen’s Kazakh-styled character Borat has made a huge impact on the entertainment industry. Thousands of moviegoer’s flocked to cinemas all over the world to see Cohen’s wacky comedic creation, Borat Sagdiyev in action.

However, since the launch of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan the British comedian has been sued by almost everyone including southern conservatives, frat boys, Romanian villagers and seemingly every other group in the “US and A”. Seemingly unfased he even thanked “every American who has not sued me so far” during his acceptance speech at this year’s Golden Globe awards.

The latest in a long list of lawsuits however might just cause a bit of a problem though. According to an Israeli comedian, Borat’s expression “Wa wa wee wa”, belongs to him. And, According to Good Evening With Guy Pines, an Israeli entertainment news show, comedian Dovale Glickman plans to sue Cohen for copyright infringement.

Glickman apparently coined the phrase 16 years ago, for a character on the hit Israeli comedy show Zehu Zeh. He further popularised the expression in a series of TV commercials for the Israeli yellow pages. It caught on and is still commonly heard on the Israeli street.

Did someone say, Uh oh?

Church of the future

futuristic_church.jpg

Above is a photo from the new Harajuku Protestant Church in Tokyo, Japan. I must say that this design differs a lot from your standard church designs, but we can trust the Japanese to come up with these innovative concepts first every time.

Quoting their website: “The ceiling is specially made to reverberate natural sound for 2 seconds to provide a unique listening experience for worshipers and tourists.” Sounds pretty cool and slightly high tech… I just wonder how the Pope would feel about this modernization of religion - I can’t see how he would be too keen on this concept… But anyway, the Japanese went down this road first and we anticipate a whole host of churches across the world to follow suit. We can’t see anything wrong with having a beautiful and stylish church building - certainly this does not interfere with any religious experience, in fact, we believe it could only enhance it. If a person finds his environment pleasing, he’ll obviously be more comfortable there and this can only enhance any spiritual experience. Well done to the Japs!

Designer Washing

wash.jpgThis new utterly stylish and exotic design by Andre Kim for a Samsung washing machine, just blows our mind! Although probably a very audacious item to have as part of your home, the design and whole feel is just so different from your normal plain white or “stylish-cool” silver designs. The design also hides the brute machine feel of this item and we’re wondering whether it’s more of a joy to get your laundry done in this washing machine compared to a very standard Defy or LG model.

Also very interesting, is that after Micheal Jackson saw Kim’s designs, he offered Kim the job to be his own personal designer, but Kim apparently declined stating that his designs are not exclusive and is to be shared with everyone, Considering who your employer would’ve been Andre Kim, you definitely did not make a bad choice, in fact I think it’s just purely creepy working for MJ. Although, you could probably steal a kiddies treat (which MJ keeps a bucketload of for the kids) here and there if you are into candy.
