Trendy iPod Cases by Lime

ipodlime1.jpgipodlime2.jpg

Check out these cute iPod cases by Lime. With patterns, silkscreen, and hipster accents these cases have a simple design that seemingly places more emphasis on fashion than function. But, they’re so cute who really cares? While the sleeve design wouldn’t be my first choice when attempting to keep my iPod safe in demanding environments, Lime cases could make an excellent gift to teenage nieces or friends. Like a cute handbag or a pair of earrings, they add a bit of flair to any outfit. Perfect for those who like a little punk with their rock.

Go-Bike

gobike.jpg

Just a quick post to lavish some praise on the new Go-Bike. Again invented by the Japanese, this little nifty fold-away bike is perfect for inner-city transport and when you don’t have a lot of storage space. Although this concept isn’t brand new, the Go-Bike is apperently the first fold-away that actually offers the performance of a normal bicycle as well. And the cool thing is that it actually looks really great!

If we were Japanese and living in the crowded streets from Tokyo, we’d put this on our early Christmas 2007 wishlist…

Dream of flying?

Sometimes, we find the ourselves browsing and scouring the web for the most insane things - and this all just because we’re bored… But in between the random stuff on College Humor and Kontraband, we actually some good stuff on other blogs that we read.

Anyway, so we’re really into cool and fresh photography (and my secret dream is to be a professional creative photographer and actually be paid for it) and whilst on one of our Operation: Erase Boredom missions, we found a photographer by the name of Jan von Holleben (funny name, don’t you think?). Very, very talented and overtly creative phtgrphr (that’s what Jan calls his job) and his various photo sets’ names range from “The Prayers”, “Necks”, “Bellies”, “Lonely Cars” and “A Playworld” to the one that really grabbed our attention, “Dream of Flying”. The last set is so creative and fresh, that it’s gotta win some prizes from somewhere - the concept is just totally insanely genius! Here’s a few of the samples:

Church of the future

futuristic_church.jpg

Above is a photo from the new Harajuku Protestant Church in Tokyo, Japan. I must say that this design differs a lot from your standard church designs, but we can trust the Japanese to come up with these innovative concepts first every time.

Quoting their website: “The ceiling is specially made to reverberate natural sound for 2 seconds to provide a unique listening experience for worshipers and tourists.” Sounds pretty cool and slightly high tech… I just wonder how the Pope would feel about this modernization of religion - I can’t see how he would be too keen on this concept… But anyway, the Japanese went down this road first and we anticipate a whole host of churches across the world to follow suit. We can’t see anything wrong with having a beautiful and stylish church building - certainly this does not interfere with any religious experience, in fact, we believe it could only enhance it. If a person finds his environment pleasing, he’ll obviously be more comfortable there and this can only enhance any spiritual experience. Well done to the Japs!

Waterworld in the 20th Century

Atkins Architecture Group recently won first prize in an internation design competition for their spectular entry based on a new-age waterworld for the super-rich. This 400 bed resort hotel is situated in a water-filled quarry in Songjiang, China and is constructed in such a way as to not impose on the natural elements of the quarry. The hotel boasts underwater guest areas, as well as various different sporting facilities, restuarants and cafes.
