Ouch The Pain

Transdermal implants will be painful. Even though you’ll be amply anesthetized, you’ll likely still feel some of it, especially after the procedure. Even worse, some implantees have complained of continued pain due to the skin trying to accommodate the implant well after the sutures have healed.

A Part Of You

Horn and spike implants made from teflon and stainless steel are easily removable via another operation should you decide to get rid of them. Coral-based materials, however, are supposed to eventually calcify and become permanent parts of your bone structure.

In The Future

I’m willing to bet good money that in the future, horn and spike implants will be so common we’ll have all sorts of people resembling comic book characters. It wouldn’t be surprising too considering how piercings and tattoos eventually came to be regular, everyday things.

These shoes, however, provide a refreshing break from all that amateur, two-bit “i’m-a-designer-too” posturings. The graphics are great and the placements are properly thought out. Sure, it’s nothing earth-shattering but I just went shopping for shoes a couple days ago and these definitely look better than some of the sneakers I came across.

I love the color. I love the chaotic design. Most of all, I love the undead so prominently featured on this pair. I wish they had more zombie designs because it just clicks.

This one is donned with a medieval bird design with plenty of that messy sensibility that really make it stand out. Kind of looks like an Affliction shirt design printed on a shoe. Not bad.

Blood Splatter Shoes

A seemingly isolated cool design among Jon Autopsy’s mediocre renderings is this sneaker perfectly outfitted with dripping blood in realistic shades. Like having a gaping wound gushing blood down your feet – priceless!

The play of colors, especially the black, white and blue, render this skull design a real sight to behold. Hopefully, it looks as good in person. I just bought a pair!

Borat has pretty much immortalized the mankini as the premiere standard in “courageous” men’s swimwear. How else would you describe a man who has the guts to don something this inane? Unlikely to hit the runways of Milan, London and Paris anytime soon, the mankini might prove one of those threads you buy but never wear – unless you’re alone and it’s late at night.

I’ve actually seen mankinis before Borat but they were never called that. In fact, I’ve seen them worn on some artistic photos of Japanese models. Yes, artistic. For real.

Either way, much of the fanfare for mankinis is for its novelty not its actual fashion sense so there’s little chance I’ll head down the beach and see a bunch of muscled guys wearing them, thank God. Borat’s mankini scenes in the movie were just, for lack of a more exultant term, too memorable.

There is an official line of mankinis licensed by 20th Century Fox as cinematic merchandise so you may want to check that out to make sure you’re buying something that’s at least moderately durable if you ever decide to wear this during a weak moment or a drunken stupor. The official ones should have a Borat label emblazoned somewhere with adequate packaging.

On another note, I’d love to see the mankini strapped on some girls’ bodies. I’m sure they’d look really good. Perhaps it’s a new adult niche I can go into. Knowing the adult market, however, there’s probably already a website offering that right now!

Buckle City offers some of the finest belt buckles available online, not to mention an adequate selection of straps too. I recently mined their goldmine of a gallery and discovered some interesting finds: PacMan belt buckles. They don’t come in sets so the designs are pretty disparate but it should be cool to have them all nonetheless.

Pac Man Full Screen Buckle

This is one of the best, most attractive belt buckles I’ve ever seen – a full screen rendering of an active PacMan game. It depicts PacMan chomping away with all four ghosts after him. I’m actually amazed they’re selling it at their standard price – this is seriously one of the finest removable belt buckle designs in their entire inventory. It measures 3 inches across and costs only $14.99, a definite steal. If I were you, I’d also get one now!

Pac Man Belt Buckle

Priced at $17.99, this is more expensive than the more detailed and better designed Full Screen buckle. I’m sorry, I just don’t get the pricing. This is an extremely simple PacMan rendition – didn’t even outfit him with arms and legs. You may still want to get it though to complete the collection.

Pac Man Ghost Belt Buckle

Way cooler than the PacMan belt buckle is this rendering of the Ghost antagonists. Metal-finished and edgy, it also measures 3 inches across and retails for $16.99.

Nintendo Controller Belt Buckle

Now, how else are you gonna play all that goodness without a controller in tow? This replica of a Nintendo controller measures 5 inches across and sells for $14.99.

Around a year before that, a more moderately priced bullet-proof hoodie began retailing for around $900. It was much more affordable than a Caballero but then, again, they were obviously working for disparate markets.

The Caballero was a polo shirt – one you can wear with a nice pair of slacks and driving shoes. You can, presumably, play golf wearing it or join a yachting tournament without feeling out of place. The hoodie, on the other hand, is pretty much the neighborhood gangster’s threads. If I was a wealthy South American cocaine warlord, I certainly wouldn’t want to be caught dead in a travesty like that!

As far as I can recall, both outfits claimed to sufficiently protect you from a 9 mm pistol. That is actually a likely weapon for the kind of threats a gangbanging neighborhood teenager will face. A major player in international cartels? Not likely. For $12,000, I expect to have sufficient protection from a bazooka or at least a sufficiently powerful automatic.

It would be nice to have one of those linen-fabric Caballero shirts though. If ladies are watching, I might even pay someone to shoot me with a 9 mm. “Look girls, I’m Superman!”

The Dopp Getaway Pocket is, for lack of a better description, a half-wallet. It has three credit card pockets, one ID window (other side from what is shown in the picture) and an area for keeping bills. If you need to carry additional cards, you can fit in two on each card pocket or slip it into the ID slot. It’s simple, slim and tight.

You can keep it in either the back or front pants pockets. Since it isn’t bulky, it causes no issues either way. You can even fit it comfortably in a shirt’s front pocket. With such painless options available for the Dopp Regatta, it boggles me that regular wallets even exist.

<b>Making It Cool</b>

While this might be useful in a few situations, it’s just plain unpalatable to wear because of how it looks. It’s like an 80’s throwback to biker chic – seriously not my style.

If you want to be able to use this for most situations and actually look normal, you’ll need it to appear at least reasonably cool. A possible solution is to buy the spy glasses, get a new fashionable frame and have the optical shop outfit it with the Spy Sunglasses’ mirrored lens. Unless the angle of the frame prevents the lens from receiving images from behind you, this should turn out to be a plausible solution.
