Everyday our skin is subjected to environmental pollution particularly dust and particulate matter with the effective of the skin pores becoming blocked which eventually leads to sying skin cells but the good news is you can combat this cycle by using a simple effective facial skin care routine.. For any facial skin care routine to be successful you do need to religiously stick to the plan and you will be rewarded with glowing healthy skin. Effective tips for your facial skin care routine. Well, very simply, a facial skin care routine consists of the following 4 steps:
1. Facial Cleansing
2. Facial Toning
3. Exfoliating
4. Moisturising
Facial cleansing is the first stage in your facial skin care routine. Facial cleansing is very beneficial as it removes all traces of air borne pollutants and excess oil which if not removed can easily damage your skin. Put a small amount of cleansing lotion on your face and neck and using upward strokes massage it into your skin.. Use a gentle patting motion to wipe your face instead of rubbing and always use a either cotton wool or a soft tissue. Facial cleansing should be done at least twice a day i.e. morning (as part of complete facial skin care routine) and evening (on a standalone basis). Water soluble cleansers are the best for inclusion in your facial skin care routine.
Facial toning is the next stage in your facial skin care routine. Although this stage of your facial skin care routine is optional I prefer to include it. Mostly, proper cleansing can compensate for toning. Facial toning is an effective way of removing all traces of grease, dust and excess cleaner. Instead of making it part of your daily facial skin care routine, you can use toning occasionally i.e. when you have been exposed to particularly harsh environment/pollution.
Exfoliation is optional, but then I consider it plays an important role in your facial skin care routine. Usually exfoliation is required once a week but this will depend on your skin type and the kind of environment you are exposed too. Exfoliation is the removing of the dead skin which lays the path for regrowth of the skin cells which usually takes place every 3 to 4 weeks. The process of exfoliation rmoves the dead skin cells from the pores to aid new skin cell formation. Be gentle when exfoliating and don’t be excessive as this can damage your skin.
The final stage in your facial skin care routine is moisturising. Moisturisers stop your skin drying out. Never let your skin dry out as this will cause cracking leading to dead skin cells. For effective moisturisation you light upward strokes. Under certain conditions moisturisers work more effectively so always ensure your moisturiser is warm and apply on damp skin. So do not try to remove all the moisture in the previous steps of facial skin care routine.
