News this morning has it that online video merchants, YouTube, are giving away a 100 million videos each and every day.
YouTube has gone from strength to strength, after they launched the website late last year, and they currently own the biggest market share of 29% in the USA’s online multimedia market. All of the videos on YouTube is still up for grabs, for you, for free, but apparently the company is looking at some ways of increasing their revenue (which might mean that the videos won’t be free for that much longer).
The company has just 30 people on their staff, but with over 20 million unique visitors last month, they should be hopping happily along to the bank very soon. They also served in excess of 2.5 BILLION videos in June 2006. Mmm…Makes us wonder what those geeks at places like Google and Microsoft do all day…[more here]
